Summary:
Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) is a private company dedicated to providing quality service in the electrical distribution market. Since its establishment in 1957, CED has become a recognized leader in the electrical industry and now has over 600 locations nationwide. CED specializes in electrical consumer goods for residential, commercial, and industrial markets; and, through a uniquely independent business model, has sustained long-term growth. CED is seeking an energetic and talented Intern in our Irving, TX Service Center to work alongside experienced Information Technology (IT) teams to learn select aspects of IT skills in the electrical wholesale industry.
Reports to: Daniel Dority
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)
• Actively pursuing secondary degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics or related field
• Self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals
• Ability to discreetly handle confidential and sensitive matters
• Conscientious and dependable
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with system users, team members and stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and excellent follow through
• Excellent time-management with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to solve problems
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This position may require sitting and working at a computer workstation for extended periods. Filing duties require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Exact conditions will vary based on the intern's current assignment.

Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is $15 to $25 hourly.
