Summary:
Switchgear Specialist
CED is actively seeking an experienced Switchgear Specialist. Switchgear Specialists are responsible for designing switchgear proposals, quoting, coordinating and managing switchgear projects; as well as cultivating client and vendor relationships to secure bid position and grow profitable market share. This individual is also responsible for providing power distribution support to our sales team and world-class customer service to our clients throughout the entire sales process. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills as well as highly technical expertise and excellent organizational skills.

Reports to: PC Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
1+ years of switchgear quotations/ sales/ project management; or relevant experience
Comprehensive knowledge of power distribution products and applications (i.e. switchboards, panelboards, transformers, MCCs, metering, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
Possess strong interpersonal skills; communicate clearly, persuasively, and professionally (written and verbal)
Proficient with computers and common office software
Be self-motivated and driven to succeed
Ability to negotiate, strategize, problem-solve, and close sales effectively
Ability to identify problems, ask questions, be resourceful, and find solutions
Capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and be consistent
Be highly detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:
Electrical Wholesale/ Electrician/ Electrical Design/ Engineering Background, or other relevant experience
4+ years of switchgear quotations, sales, and/or project management; or other relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in business, electrical engineering, or another relevant field
Expertise in power distribution products and applications

Essential Job Functions:
Prepare accurate power distribution takeoffs from electrical plan sets and specifications
Design switchgear proposals based on takeoff information and contractor input
Drive sales through prompt response to daily bid and quote requests
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineers to gather pertinent project information in order to provide the highest quality of service in the marketplace
Send out RFIs (Request for Information) for clarification of project requirements
Utilize knowledge and experience to make discretionary decisions to determine what product specifications, applications, and pricing are necessary for a specific project
Prepare professional, organized Submittal packages and O&M Manuals
Provide world-class customer service by anticipating the needs of our clients, proactively seeking solutions to add value, and increase profitable market share
Build trusting relationships with clients by displaying competency and effectiveness
Provide project schedule updates to clients for ongoing jobs
Maintain well organized records of customer and vendor information, quotations, sales, inquiries, feedback, and other relevant documents
Follow up on quotes and proposals gathering pertinent feedback and adjusting strategy to increase hit rate
Manage shared Bid Calendar
Collaborate and maintain open communication with team members to share information relevant to the improvement of our business
Provide technical assistance to sales team, counter staff, and clients
Respond to customer inquiries, assist and resolve customer problems in a prompt and professional manner
Attend sales, product, training, and other company meetings
Utilize online training to expand knowledge and skillset
Back up salesmen, counter area, and warehouse functions when needed

Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is $65000 to $95000 annually.
