Summary:
We are looking for a humble and hungry individual, looking to support a locally operated business—sales team and warehouse—in an administrative role.
This role will primarily be responsible for daily processing of accounts payable and receivable documents. This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available in sales, project management, and operations (depending on interests and abilities.) This is a full-time opportunity with strong earning potential through our profit sharing model, but strong part-time candidates may also be considered.
CED is an industry leader in the electrical wholesale market, with over 700 locations nationwide. This position is with the CED Sandy Profit Center.
Reports to: Profit Center Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High level of organization, accuracy and confidentiality
High attention to detail
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Fluent in English both orally and in writing
Basic bookkeeping knowledge and knowledge of general accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability and willingness to gain knowledge of electrical products and their functions
Previous customer service or sales experience preferred
Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Accounts Payable experience
Previous customer service or sales experience
Working Conditions:
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in an office environment which requires sitting and working at a computer workstation for extended periods.
SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday
40+ hour work week during normal business hours of 6:30am to 5:00pm
Some Overtime may occur, and some may be required
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Essential Job Functions:
Process vendor and expenses invoices (payables), customer sales documents (receivables), and associated paperwork daily including data entry
Follow basic accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting, including CED-established monthly and annual processes
File records for ease of access following record retention schedule
Meet daily deadlines with frequent interruptions
Reconcile and deposit cash and check payments
Oversee office supplies
Proactively find ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the business
Answer telephones and provide excellent, friendly customer service
Take customer orders (via phone and in-person) and create accurate sales registers
Additional duties and projects as required
